Project statement
Dark marble, fluted timber, and full-height glass make the kitchen the house’s focal point.
Brief
The kitchen had to feel architectural enough to anchor the house while staying open to the exterior. The imagery focuses on vertical rhythm, reflective stone, and the line between interior detail and coastal light.

Signature sequence
One room carries the house.
The brief made the kitchen the architectural centre of the home, so the imagery had to give it authority without shutting out the coast. The sequence balances dark mass against open glass.
01
The island as anchor
The hero frame sets the dark marble island against full-height glazing. The room keeps its depth because the strongest object in it sits in front of the widest view.
02
Vertical rhythm
Fluted timber runs the full height and keeps the eye moving upward. It gives the dark palette a texture that reads even in low light.
03
Dusk is the test
The final views hold the room just after sunset, when reflective stone could easily go black. Restrained lighting keeps every surface readable and the view still present.
The kitchen earns its role as the focal point — dark, precise, and always open to the water.
